Wade is a small town in Cumberland County that grew up along the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad. I have represented the sellers of three lots in the Wade area, so it is a place I know through my land work. If you are considering land or a home here, I hope this page helps.
Where Wade Is and Getting Around
Wade is in northeastern Cumberland County, northeast of Fayetteville. The town takes part in the Cumberland County Joint Planning Board, according to the Town of Wade, so planning and zoning questions often involve the county as well. I always suggest testing your own commute at the hours you would actually drive it.
A Short History of Wade
The town was named for N.G. Wade, a local businessman who sold cross ties to the railroad. Wade was first chartered in 1869, that charter was later abandoned, and the town was chartered again on March 8, 1913. Town government was reactivated in 1967, with the first election of this era held in 1968, according to the Town of Wade history page. Public water first reached Wade citizens in 1988.

- Lot 2 S River School Road, Wade: Represented the seller

If you own land here and are thinking about selling, or you are looking for a lot to build on, I would be glad to talk through it with you. With land, I always suggest checking zoning, septic or utility options, access and the survey with the county before you commit.

Schools
Public schools here are part of the Cumberland County Schools. Attendance zones can change, so I always suggest confirming a specific address with the district’s own address lookup tool before you make a decision.
Buying or Selling in Wade
Wade is a quiet small town in Cumberland County. A Wade mailing address does not always mean a property is inside town limits, so I always confirm that, along with county zoning, for each property.
Frequently Asked Questions About Wade
Do you help with land, or only homes?
Both. Much of my land work has been helping owners sell lots like the ones listed above. If you are buying land, I am glad to help you think through the questions that matter most for a lot, such as access, utilities or septic, zoning and survey details.
Where can I find official town information?
See the official links above. The town and county websites are the best source for permits, utilities, zoning and current projects.
